RHYTHM MAGAZINE REVIEW OF DESERT MONKEY'S 'WATER DAMAGE'.

'My first impression of this is that it is kind of Faith No More meets Jimi Hendrix. That sounds good, doesn't it? Well, they are, sort of. They've got nice stoner ideas, and when they get going they've got riffs to rival Audioslave. Fresh out of their teens, they sound like they are ready to go for it. I think the vocal needs to dominate more, but that might be a mix thing. They would benefit from backing vocals, not just harmonies, but some nice, trippy 'aahs' would be a nudge away from typical 'rock' sounds, which is what they seem to want to challenge. Keep working on those melodies, but overall, very promising with a great meshy sound and cool look.'
