MUSIC PRESS REVIEW OF DESERT MONKEY'S 'WATER DAMAGE'.
| 'Hey, this band is very grungy, as well as this you can also pick out other influence’s. Thou some of the tracks are definitely very metal in places, kind of like old school metal, i.e. ‘Black Sabbath’, you can also pick out the sound of ‘Audio slave’ in the guitars at times. The vocals are very good for this sort of music, but at times you can tell the singer is trying too hard and the vocals become tense and strained and I’m sure there is a bit of Jack White hinting through such as “Whites Stripes” latest album. Man, some very psychedelic rock riffs breaking to the front exfoliating a mass of energy; this gives their music lots of ear cracking power. This is an excellent band for setting the tempo of songs, which varies from slow ballads to all out explosive rock.' (Review by Cartman www.musicpress.co.uk) |
